Accounting Manager
Seeking a manager‐level Asset Management Accountant to join the Finance and Accounting team in
New York. The individual will be responsible for maintaining the books and records of corporate, and the various entities it consolidates, including investment advisors and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Managing month‐end financial close process, including the preparation and/or review of journal entries, consolidating subsidiaries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements
Maintaining the books and records of registered investment advisors, proprietary management companies, and profits interest partnerships
Prepare tax basis financials for registered advisors, process tax payments, and liaise with outside accountants for registered advisors, and propriety management companies
Reviewing monthly reconciliations of advisory, placement, and other management fees
Maintaining documentation to support the effective operation of internal controls over financial reporting
Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits and with tax professionals for the preparation of partnership tax returns
Working on ad‐hoc projects
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and 5+ years of equivalent industry experience with hedge funds and private equity funds
Corporate Asset Management Accounting experience given preference
The candidate should have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
Possessing an active CPA license is not required but is a plus
Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with/manage clients and team members
Elevated attention to detail and consistency in work product
Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Self‐starting team player who can excel in a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial, intellectually challenging work environment
Compensation:
Base salary before bonus depending on experience, licenses, and certifications is targeted in the range of $100k-$140k
