Position Description: This position is responsible for the specification, design, and implementation of machine vision and test systems for new and existing high-speed lamp manufacturing, SMT and electronic assembly equipment, in compliance with company, national, and international standards.

Assist with troubleshooting on new and existing vision systems.

Will be required to understand existing applications of machine vision systems.

Evaluate and propose upgrade paths for obsolete equipment.

Coordinate and direct technicians as required.

Provide training for maintenance and other appropriate personnel on the use and support of vision applications.

Will be required to stay knowledgeable of latest machine vision technology.This position requires in-depth knowledge of applying machine vision technology in a manufacturing environment for: on-line and off-line inspection, vision controlled positioning, defect analysis, and optical character verification.

Knowledgeable in the selection and application of optics and novel lighting techniques.

Experienced in project planning and tracking. Must know how to write and interpret technical specifications.

Requires excellent interpersonal skills.

Software experience required: Visual Basic/VB.Net (Visual Studio)

In-depth machine vision experience with at least one of the following required: DVT, Cognex or PC based Frame Grabber Systems.

The candidate should also be familiar with hardware and software application of PLC's and industrial computers, various industrial sensing applications, motion control and test systems.

Experience in commercial SMT equipment vision applications (AOI, SPI, etc.) and test systemsRequirements:

Minimum of 5 years demonstrated success in applying machine vision in a manufacturing environmentBSEE, or a related discipline requiredAdvanced degrees preferred
