Associate Director, Trade Support

Functional responsibilities will include end-to-end middle office operational support including trade confirmation, trade settlement, trade booking, trade life-cycle event support, cash projections and internal accounting within PAM (investment accounting system). The environment is fast-paced. This person would be responsible for facilitating evolution of the operating model to target state as well as broadening the knowledge of insurance accounting and PAM platform within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for daily reconciliation of cash, position, and accruals
  • Providing daily cash liquidity reporting
  • Monitor cash on hand and book FX trades as needed for hedging purposes
  • Respond to margin/collateral calls and setup wires to facilitate movement of cash
  • Reviewing, Allocating and confirming bond, equity, options, OTC trades with counterparties in DTC/Euroclear/ICE
  • Send out daily trade fails and unmatched report to front office
  • Confirm and settle trades with prime brokers, resolve failing and unmatched trades
  • Set-up and process wires to appropriately fund for various events
  • Liaise with Security Master team to ensure proper setup of new funds/securities
  • Work with fund controllers/fund administrators to confirm P&L throughout the month, and resolve all issues/breaks for month end signoff
  • Be the functional expert for PAM and partner with IT for appropriate integration
  • Responsible for reconciling VPM (Virtual Portfolio Manager) and PAM



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Undergraduate Degree from top University/College with 7+ years of relevant investment operations experience, with GPA 3.25+
  • In-depth knowledge and 3+ years of experience in PAM
  • Familiarity with book value/Insurance accounting
  • Insurance Accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience in VPM is a plus
  • Product knowledge exposure:
    • Corporate Bonds
    • Bank Debt/Term Loans/Revolvers
    • Credit Default Swaps
    • Foreign Exchange (FX)
    • Equity Swap Derivatives
    • Equity/Options
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvements
  • Project management experience is a plus

  • Must be comfortable communicating with traders and portfolio managers
