RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designs and develops mechanical and thermal designs for radio and antenna products
  • Develop CAD database, thermal profiles, weatherproofing, mounting structures, EMI suppression parts and plans
  • Ensure antenna/radio can pass stack up tolerance analysis to the design
  • Work in a multi-function team that includes electrical, mechanical and software engineers for designs
  • Use FLOWTHERM and ANSYS for thermal and structural simulations
  • Help ensure production team understands design, testing, and prototype builds
  • Be able to work with teams across the globe
  • Make product specs and write test plans for procedures to ensure designs meet the customer specifications
  • Build process flow charts and control plans to ensure products can be accurately reproduced multiple times
  • Work with DMAIC and DFSS during the design to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is maintained

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Possess a BSME from an accredited university
  • Strong experience with SolidWorks
  • Have experience designing electronic enclosures
  • 10+ years of experience using Mechanical Engineering principles
  • Understand the following: injection molding, die casting, CNC machining, plastic extrusion, 3D printers and sheet metal work
  • Understand ultrasonic welding, screws, adhesives and rivets of all kinds
  • Strong experience with material and part selection
  • Very strong experience with ANSYS and FLOWTHERM
  • Worked with Tolernace Analysis

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Have completed suppler reviews before
  • Worked with CFDs before
  • Used Pro-E or Unigraphics
  • FMEA experience is highly desirable
  • Design expeirnece with IP66 or IP67
  • MSME preferred
  • Experience with high volume electronic devices
  • SAP experience
