The Project/Systems Engineer duties includes the planning and execution of product development for the OMFV Program and other projects. This position requires strong matrix leadership skills and is responsible for coordinating engineering, supplier, lab and vehicle build, and production integrated product team (IPT) members on schedule, cost, process, and technical activities. They will work primarily with the Project and Technical Leads on the program, and senior Systems Management, to manage selected IPT project engineering products and provide daily planning, communication, and management.

Role and Responsibilities

Project Planning

- Support Proposal response preparation and coordination activities- Establish and manage Integrated Project Plan (IPP)- Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), breakdown of tasks and activities, and critical path- Intermediate level and execution schedules and completion metrics- Cost Estimate and Budget Allocations to project elements- Development of WBS/RAM/SOW products

Execution Management

- Assist in managing the project and IPS processes to meet cost, schedule, and scope- Support the preparation, review, and approval of products / CDRLs/Design reviews- Support the development and execution of design release to the Engineering Release Plan (ERP)- Assist the Leads on the Management of daily Control Account Manager duties

Monitoring and Control

- Management of EVMS principles, Desktop Metrics, Variance Reports, BCRs, correction actions- Support issue resolution and risk activities- Obtain required approvals for scope, budget, technical/project decisions, and contract deliverables

Communication

- Orchestrate and communicate status to the Leads on the project

- Develop and coordinate schedule, allocate budgets and required resources

- Provide direction and guidance to applicable stakeholders
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor s Degree in a technical discipline (e.G., engineering, math, science) or an alternative acceptable to the hiring manager
  • Minimum 14 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in hands on schedule/budget development, project planning, and execution management
  • Experience with Supplier Management
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk management preferred
  • Experience in working on military vehicle programs a plus
  • Highly motivated performer with initiative and teamwork skills
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend overtime anticipated
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and matrix leadership skills
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • PMI PMP or other project management Certification and Training a strong plus
  • May be required to obtain a military vehicle entry authorization card or Secret security clearance
