This position will be responsible for leading the company s sales efforts for our thermal separation s products. Working as a team with the General Manager and Process Engineers, this individual will drive the sale of company products, and the development and maintenance of on-going business relationships with key Artisan clients.
Evaluate all incoming leads for Separations Technologies and respond either directly or with support from engineering as needed. This will include all calls, internet leads, etc.
Participate in team selling approach with General Manager and Process technologies team.
Qualify and prioritize the leads and develop initial response to customer.
Match customer problem(s) with company technologies to offer cost effective solutions.
Develop commercial and intelligence information for project viability, such as the competition, purchasing culture, etc.
Assess the quality of the leads based on the source, the application and Artisan s fit for the proper solution/technology needs
Determine project timing, funding, order placement and other relevant information before engaging engineering
Prepare feasibility and budget proposals, pilot plant as well as firm quotes with support from engineering
Follow up with customer and monitor status of issued quotations either personally or through the technical member(s) of team.
Visit customer sites as needed to do sales presentations or develop customer relationships
Develop and drive a Key Customer Care program to provide top level service to key customers.
Prepare formal sales activity report on current status of issued quotations and other sales related activities to management
Network within customer organization for further leads
Participate in team business development with General Manager and Process Technologies team for opportunities with long term business potential
Write and publish articles in related publications with the assistance and participation of the General Manager and Chief Technology Officer.
Process literature requests by handling directly or with Marketing or process engineers as needed
Adjust and refine sales and promotional processes and activities to grow sales in alignment with company s strategic growth initiatives
Host customers at Artisan for pilot plant testing as well as other potential customer visits.
Participate at trade shows and exhibitions as requested.
Identify and assist in all marketing aspects of the business including advertising, literature development, mailings, website management and technical presentations at seminars and trade shows
Assume additional related responsibilities as assigned
B.S. In Chemical Engineering
7+ years of experience in technical sales preferably of process equipment or technical process solutions.
Understanding of thermal separations and chemical processing principles.
Ability to work independently, as part of a team or as a team leader.
Ability to lead and motivate peers and fellow workers without direct supervisory responsibility
Effective oral and written communications skills.
Excellent organizational skills. Self-starter with strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills.
Good time management skills.
Proactive approach to sales and problem solving.
Working familiarity with standard office automation software is required (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Acrobat, and SalesForce.Com) as well as the ability to quickly and effectively conduct targeted online research.
Ability to travel as needed.
Ability to run ChemCad a plus.
