Job Description
AVP Financial Analyst - Finance
Job Responsibilities:
- Statutory reporting (German GAAP and IFRS) for the U.S. branches (New York and IBF) which includes the following tasks
- maintain journals and ledgers and originate entries for the German GAAP and IFRS financials,
- prepare monthly, reports for the Bank Finance Division in Head Office (H.O.),
- prepare reporting forms for the semi-annual and annual financial statements of the bank,
- reconcile the monthly management reporting with the German GAAP reporting,
- reconcile the monthly IFRS reporting with the German GAAP reporting,
- produce management reports and perform various analyses,
- prepare for the introduction of new reporting and accounting standards,
- accompany new initiatives in accordance with the Bank’s new product procedure,
- perform various special tasks related to Accounting, Tax and Regulatory Reporting,
- cross-departmental support for and exchange with the Risk Controlling function of the department
2. Support (back-up) of the other functions of the Finance & Risk Controlling Department
a) Internal financial reporting which includes the following tasks
- prepare and analyze the monthly internal management reporting package,
- prepare and analyze the monthly customer-, product and business unit profitability,
- carry out the annual planning and cost allocation process
b) Tax reporting which includes the following tasks
- calculate the deferred taxes in accordance with German GAAP and IFRS,
- prepare the quarterly tax-reporting package to H.O.,
- prepare the book-to-tax calculation on a quarterly basis,
- perform various other tax compliance related tasks
c) Regulatory reporting which includes the following tasks
- prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Federal Reserve Bank, the New York State Department of Financial Services, the SEC as well as to the Department of Commerce for the branches, the AG and the Group
Required Qualification:
Education
Graduate or equivalent degree in Finance or Accounting
Professional Qualifications:
- Sound knowledge of the banking business and products
- Sound accounting knowledge
- Working knowledge of the German- and International Accounting Standards and the EU regulatory requirements relevant to the banking- and securities business
- Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, U.S. tax regulations and U.S. regulatory reporting requirements a plus
Professional Experience
3+ years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting in a bank
Technical Skills
- Profound knowledge of the SAP software and its various modules as well as the Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of the front-to-back-office system Murex a plus
Personal Competencies
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral); German speaking a plus
- Strong analytical skills
$120K-$130K before Bonus DOE
