Advanced DevSecOps Software Engineer

About the Role: 
Support successful implementation of DevSecOps CICD pipelines through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.
Responsibilities/ Assignments 
As a DevSecOps Software Engineeer:
  • Work with DevOps Architect, Software Engineering teams, Software Architects, US Military agencies and IT to develop pipelines that work for individual programs while developing and implementing the enterprise approach of commonization and standardization across the SW engineering department.
  • Continuously review and improve the DevSecOps CICD pipelines to ensure a seamless end-to-end process from Build to Deploy across all environments.
  • Configure, administer, maintain, and optimize CICD tools like Gitlab, Artifactory, SonarQube and ensure their robust availability in the pipeline.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to evaluate tool upgrades, plug-ins, and critical tickets. Work with IT and teams across the organization to troubleshoot DSO issues.
  • Support and suggest best practices across DevSecOps, CICD, Rapid Release, and related end-to-end automation. Train and coach global team members to ensure proper use of all tools. 
  • Stay current with relevant emerging technologies and assess their application to DevSecOps. Support building new capabilities and features into organization’s pipelines. Conduct POCs on roadmap items to ensure functionality before full-scale integration.
 
Candidates should have demonstrated strengths and experience in some of the following areas: 
  • Development experience using platforms such as Java, Python, .NET, JS
  • Container technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Groovy, or Artifactory. You have demonstratable experience developing and implementing pipelines.
  • Experience working with Maven or Gradle
  • Experience maintaining production-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation.
  • Experience performing complex troubleshooting and performance tuning of various issues within the CICD tool chain using industry standard monitoring tools.
  • Well versed with SAFe/Agile and be able to work effectively in a scrum team environment.
Other beneficial experience: 
  • IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, or security hardening, and auditing
  • Experience with security scanning tools such as X-ray, CheckMarx, Twistlock, or gitleaks
  • Management of Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services, and/or Azure
  • Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)
  • Experience in Java application development, deployment, configuration, and Unix
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Minimum Qualifications / What you must have 
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, or related field, Advanced degree a plus.
  • 7 or more years of experience working with Industry standard DevSecOps CI/CD Tools including: source code repository management, CI pipeline configuration, and/or binary repository management is sought.
  • Be a self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
Additional Information 
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • Prior experience working on ground based Military Vehicles desired.
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
  • Able to work overtime when required.
  • Limited travel may be required.
