Associate Tax Accountant

Job Description
The temporary associate tax accountant is primarily responsible for assisting with the following:
- Federal, state, and local tax reporting and compliance
- Non-profit
- Income tax
- Sales and use
- International tax reporting and compliance
- Monitor changes that affect the organization
- Basic research tax rules and regulations
- Interface with volunteers, staff, and professional tax advisors
- Educates volunteers and staff regarding tax processes and requirements
- Maintaining procedures for tax processes
Key Responsibilities
Specific duties may include but are not limited to:
- Tax Compliance
- The accurate preparation and timely filing of assigned tax returns:
- Forms 990, 990-T, 990-PF and related state charitable and income tax returns
- Consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns
- State and local sales and use tax returns
- International indirect tax filings (VAT, GST, JCT, etc.)
- International tax returns/reporting (Forms 8858, 5713, 5471, etc.)
- Forms 1099 and 1042 tax filings
- Other required statutory reporting
- The accurate preparation and timely filing of assigned tax returns:
- Tax Planning
- Improve efficiency and controls
- Complete essential reconciliations
- Problem Solving
- Uniform indirect tax coordination
- Review and resolve issues that arise with the enterprise transaction tax system or government taxing jurisdiction and coordinate duties for the tax engine
- Monthly administration of the sales and use tax enterprise system
- Administration of tax return preparation software
- Respond accurately and timely to inquiries from internal and external customers
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, or equivalent experience required
- 2 years of tax and/or accounting experience dealing with reporting
