Job Description

The Panther Group has an immediate need for a REMOTE Benefits / Leave Specialist.  The ideal candidate can work 830am to 530pm EST. 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Serves as primary point of contact for employees, HR Business Partners, managers, and third-party vendor(s) on all leave policies and procedures, and medical accommodation requests.
  • Maintains compliance and administers leaves in accordance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and applicable state and local leave laws.
  • Maintains compliance and administers benefits in accordance with the company's short-term disability, pregnancy disability leave, parental leave, and applicable state disability leave law(s).
  • Coordinates with state paid leave authorities, when applicable, to assist in the determination of applicable disability benefit offsets.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records for all leave and accommodation claims, ensuring proper documentation for legal and auditing purposes.
  • Assist in managing the return-to-work process, including facilitating accommodations and ensuring that employee rights and company policies are followed.
  • Oversees and administers the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) evaluation and interactive accommodation process in accordance with federal law and company policy.
  • Oversees and administers the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) evaluation and interactive accommodation process in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and company policy.
  • Collaborates with the Payroll team on leave and disability benefit payments to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Acts as the liaison between third party administrators and employees to assist in processing of leave and disability claims.
  • Reviews vendor services and addresses performance concerns.
  • Coordinates and oversees leave and disability policy design and management.
  • Works closely with legal counsel on complicated leave and accommodation matters.
  • Assists with Benefits Administration as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years leave of absence and job accommodation management, or a similar HR-related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state leave of absence laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with a broad team in a collaborative manner
  • Proven ability to provide a superior customer experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and Workday preferred
