Broker-Dealer Regulatory Reporting Specialist
The Company is seeking a BD Regulatory Reporting specialist to join its Finance and Accounting team in New York.  The individual will be responsible for compliance with broker-dealer regulatory reporting requirements, with emphasis on SEC Rule 15c3-1 (net capital) and SEC Rule 15c3-3 (customer reserve computation) and 17a-5 FOCUS reporting.  This position will initially report to the Head of Regulatory Reporting. 
Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and/or reviewing aspects of the weekly and monthly customer and PAB reserve formula computations.
  • Calculating elements of the daily and monthly net capital calculations.
  • Maintaining documentation to support the effective operation of internal controls over compliance with the net capital and customer reserve rules.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing aspects of the FOCUS report for submission to the regulators.
  • Compiling monthly, quarterly and annual supplemental reports for submission to the regulators, including the Supplemental Inventory Schedule (SIS), Supplemental Liquidity Schedule (SLS), Supplemental Schedule for Derivatives and Other Off-Balance Sheet Items (Form OBS), Supplemental Statement of Income (SSOI), Form Custody filings, and annual Schedule I Filings.
  • Ensure written procedures are updated and in compliance with requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors and regulators during audits.
  • Evaluating new business proposals from regulatory capital and reserve computation perspectives.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects
Qualifications Required:
  • The candidate should have at least 4-5 years of experience in working on broker-dealer regulatory reporting activities with emphasis on SEC Rule 15c3-1 (net capital), SEC Rule 15c3-3 (customer reserve requirements) and 17a-5 FOCUS reporting.
  • Knowledge of the other Financial Responsibility Rules, including familiarity with the possession or control requirements, is a plus.
  • FINRA Series 27 securities license is preferred. Candidates without an existing Series 27 license would be expected to become certified within a reasonable amount of time after they are hired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, familiarity with Word and comfortable learning / utilizing other Firm systems.
  • Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation: $85K-$105K DOE
