Job Description
The Panther Group is looking for an experienced Configuration Management Analyst to work in a high tech engineering role. We need someone with strong communication and organization skills with Bill of Materials, Stakeholders and able to provide guidance on Configuration Management best practices and processes. Â
Description:
This position is responsible for maintaining and managing technical data for product configurations. The candidate will coordinate CCB meetings, prepare or review engineering changes and variances and investigate their effect on overall product baselines. The CM analyst will maintain accurate Bill of Materials in the PDM system and manage the repository of released data.
This person will be responsible for examining and reporting obsolescence of configuration items, produce and analyze CM metrics to drive process improvement.
This candidate will work closely with the Engineering, Purchasing and the Manufacturing Operations departments. And be expected to provide these groups with guidance on CM processes.
Responsibilities:
Provides advice, training, and guidance on configuration management practices, methods, documentation, procedures and requirements.
Review and track engineering change requests, RFV’s, and ECP’s to assess impact upon configuration baseline and logistics support elements.
Collaborates with stakeholders in order to verify that changes are ready to seek board Configuration Control Board (CCB) approval.
Facilitate CCB meetings
Review and update Configuration management plans periodically for in accordance with program requirements and industry standard guidelines.
Check drawings and documents for compliance to company standards and program requirements.
Works closely with quality assurance, engineering, manufacturing and management representatives to ensure accurate and well-documented product baseline.
Conduct configuration verification, auditing, and reporting activities
Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in a Technical Field
5+ years of CM related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Hands on experience with a PDM tool, Windchill/PDMLink a plus.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Solid understanding of EIA-649-C
Ability to interpret contract SOW with respect to Configuration Management requirements.
Working knowledge for performing Configuration Status Accounting.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
The candidate must be highly motivated, detail oriented ang have excellent presentation skills.
