Job Description
The Panther Group has an immediate need for a Controls Automation Engineer for a major retail client. The ideal candidate would be located in the Eastern Standard Time zone and available to travel 50-60% of the time throughout the U.S.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Work with multiple cross functional engineers to bring a solution from concept to reality.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to integrate conveyer control solutions, automated material handling equipment, and autonomous vehicles.
- The ability to create and maintain electrical schematic drawings.
- Must be able to develop and debug controls system software in ladder logic, ST.
- Ability to provide technical expertise in controls and electrical engineering.
- Perform on-site commissioning support & necessary electrical field wiring when required.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience in control systems / Electrical Panel design engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN
- Familiarity with the following programming languages: Ladder Logic
- Familiarity with the following software platforms: Studio 5000/ RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, and AutoCAD, Solid works, AutoCAD
- Ability to Lead and/or assist in project definition, specification, purchasing follow-through to installation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in software and hardware.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and the ability to conduct meetings and presentations with associates from all levels of management.
- Understanding of servo drive and VFD functionality.
- Working knowledge of industrial control systems equipment.
- Motion control experience.
- Warehouse operations management experience or experience with warehouse management and/or execution systems.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors or Masters in: Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or 3+ years of experience in control systems engineering, PLC programming
