Job Description


The Panther Group is seeking experienced Design Engineers for an exciting contract opportunity with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Orlando, FL.

This role is ideal for engineers with a strong background in electromechanical design, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) board layout, connector selection, harness design, and manufacturing support. If you enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing to advanced electronic systems, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical layouts for Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) boards and electronic hardware systems
  • Perform CCA board layout and integration activities
  • Select and integrate connectors, cables, and harnesses into complex assemblies
  • Ensure proper fit, clearance, tolerance, and manufacturability requirements are met
  • Utilize Creo and Windchill to create and maintain engineering designs and documentation
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews
  • Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues throughout the product lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), engineering documentation, and design packages
  • Define and support testing, validation, and integration activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Reliability, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering
  • Support aerospace and defense product development from concept through production
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance required (not required to start)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with:
    • CCA board mechanical layout and design
    • Connector selection and integration
    • Manufacturing support activities
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using:
    • PTC Creo
    • Windchill
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with:
    • Zuken
    • IPC standards
    • Aerospace and defense product development environments
  • Experience producing engineering documentation and technical design packages
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cable and harness design experience
  • Experience supporting electronic packaging and enclosure integration
  • Familiarity with testing and validation planning
  • Experience supporting products throughout the full engineering lifecycle
  • Prior experience working in highly regulated aerospace or defense environments

Pay $65.38 per hour DOE
