EMI/EMC Engineer

Job Duties:
  • Lead and contribute to radiation efforts on Civil Space and National Security Space missions
  • Collaboration across teams, including spacecraft and instrument systems engineers, design engineers, and component engineers
  • Evaluation of the space radiation environment, assessment of its effect on space systems in the areas of radiation, radiation testing, and recommendation of mitigation approaches
  • Occasional travel to test facilities

Experience Requirements:
  • BS or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM area with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with radiation testing methods, systems analysis and prevention
  • 2 years of experience with space or aviation EMI/EMC test planning, execution and mitigation
  • 2 years of experience with launch site lightning suppression and identification of commit criteria
  • Experience with compliance pretest equipment setup and operation and test execution
  • Design and engineer solutions for radiation prevention for human rated systems
  • Provide strong working knowledge of EMC/EMI products in human space flight
  • Experience with other space environmental effects (e.G. Detector noise evaluation, internal charging, surface charging). Analysis any disturbances from electromagnetic signals
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to work with a variety of people across engineering and science disciplines
  • Experience analyzing radiation efforts for a flight program

Desired Requirements:
  • Experience preparing and presenting status information and technical material
  • Experience reading schematics and designing mitigation circuits
  • Experience in and ability to specify test chamber and equipment for pretest
  • Ability to teach and lead others in the practice of EMI/EMC design and test
  • Experience in front of government customers to brief plans issues and solutions
