Job Description


The Panther Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Electronic Assembler II to support a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Austin, TX.

If you have strong hand soldering experience, enjoy working with precision electronics, and want to build products used in critical defense applications, we'd like to hear from you.

This is a full-time contract opportunity with the potential for long-term employment.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble electronic and electromechanical products using detailed work instructions
  • Perform precision hand soldering to IPC Class 3 standards
  • Install connectors, wiring, and electronic components
  • Apply epoxy/tack bond materials during assembly
  • Inspect assemblies for workmanship, defects, and quality
  • Perform rework and repairs as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and manufacturing instructions
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify production assemblies
  • Utilize fixtures and manufacturing equipment to accurately build products
  • Maintain quality documentation and production records
  • Work in a clean room manufacturing environment
  • Follow all quality, safety, and production procedures
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of electronics assembly experience (or equivalent trade school education)
  • Strong hand soldering experience
  • Experience with IPC Class 3 workmanship standards
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Experience performing electronic rework
  • Mechanical assembly and/or epoxy (tack bond) experience
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
  • J-STD-001 Modules 1, 3 & 6
  • IPC-A-610 certification
  • Selective soldering experience
  • Wave soldering experience
  • AOI or AXI (X-Ray) inspection experience
  • Experience using solder reflow ovens or pick-and-place equipment
  • MRP or manufacturing software experience
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
Pay up to $35.86 per hour DOE
