Job Description


The Panther Group is seeking a Test Technician II to support a leading aerospace and defense client in Austin, TX. In this hands-on role, you will perform testing, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronic components and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with electronics testing, soldering, and troubleshooting experience who want to work on advanced technology in a highly respected organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate test equipment for electronic assemblies and production units
  • Perform functional testing following established procedures, standards, and work instructions
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues down to the component level
  • Assemble and modify production units based on schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Perform hand soldering and rework on PCB components
  • Adjust, calibrate, and maintain test systems and equipment
  • Use tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and RF analyzers
  • Document test results and support quality verification processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues
  • Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing standards
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or testing (PCB preferred)
  • Hands-on soldering experience (required)
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic assemblies to the component level
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions
  • Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 – Modules 1, 3, 6 highly preferred)
  • Experience with RF testing or analyzers
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC)
Pay up to $29.23 per hour DOE
