Job Description
The Panther Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support advanced aerospace and defense programs in Grand Prairie, TX. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in Creo design, 3D modeling, and mechanical systems development.
You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team focused on designing and improving complex mechanical components and systems for high-performance applications.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using Creo (CAD)
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models and engineering drawings
- Support product development and manufacturing processes
- Perform design analysis considering manufacturability, materials, cost, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality
- Prepare and support design reviews and technical presentations
- Identify and resolve design issues, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities
- Ensure designs meet specifications, standards, and program requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of Creo (CAD) experience
- 2+ years of Windchill (PLM/PDM) experience
- Strong experience with:
- 3D modeling and detailed design
- Mechanical assemblies and structures
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience working with complex mechanical or electromechanical systems
- Active Secret or Interim Secret Clearance required to start.
- Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD)
- Background in aerospace or defense programs
- Experience supporting design reviews and concept development
