Job Description
Grants Manager
The Grants Manager will work with the SVP for Research Affairs in the design and implementation of all services offered by the Office of Sponsored Programs. The Grants Manager will play a significant role in managing the institution’s proper stewardship of externally funded projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides weekly reports to the Office of the SVP for Research.
- Helps faculty members identify funding opportunities and oversees the compliance associate in advising and guiding researchers/administrators in the process of grant funding/maintaining, and IRB/IACUC policies development.
- Keeps the community abreast of changes in law, regulation, policies, and guidance that impact sponsored programs.
- Serves as a member of the Research Council and the Biomedical and Health Sciences Research Council and undertake special projects and analyses as required therein.
- Ensures that human research protection training is available and completed by investigators, key study personnel, the Institutional Signatory Official, and all staff who participate in the human subject’s protection program.
- Coordinates the final institutional approval process for all research involving human subjects, including but not limited to ensuring that all, contractual, compliance, and affiliate hospital requirements have been met.
- Maintains compliance with its terms, as well as organization’s policies and procedures, and state and local laws related to the conduct of human research studies. Implements, reviews, and proposes necessary changes in human research protection policies and procedures.
- Seeks or maintains memberships in professional associations and pursues career development to maintain knowledge of human research protection guidance and regulations as they evolve. Monitors federal regulatory websites and other research-related resources to stay current with regulatory changes in human research protections guidelines and policies. Communicates pertinent information to the community in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required and experience in a college or university sponsored programs office (or similar) preferred.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Expertise in federal and state regulations pertinent to sponsored program activities and in government and non-governmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of human subject protections, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of leadership and staff.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; InfoEd/Spin; Mentor-Axiom; Redcap and other EDCs.
targeted base salary of $65K-$75K
