Job Description

Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role ensures compliance with employment laws and supports the company’s strategic human resources initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.

Employee Relations:
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Address and resolve employee relations issues, providing guidance to both employees and management.
  • Foster a positive working environment and culture, promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits Administration:
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company offerings.
  • Assist in the payroll process ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees.
  • Conduct salary surveys and job evaluations to ensure competitive compensation practices.

Performance Management:
  • Support the performance review process, ensuring timely completion of evaluations and development plans.
  • Assist managers with employee performance issues and development plans.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance and Record Keeping:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and submit reports on HR metrics as required.

Training and Development:
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions on various HR topics and company policies.
  • Support employee development initiatives and career development planning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
