Senior IT Business Analyst
Job Description
The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst for a 6-month consulting opportunity supporting a leading university environment in Boston, MA. This is a high-impact hybrid role supporting enterprise technology initiatives, system integrations, infrastructure projects, and cross-functional business transformation efforts.
Not open to C2C or third party agencies. No Visa sponsorship for this role.Â
This position is ideal for a strategic and hands-on Business Analyst who thrives in complex IT environments and enjoys partnering with both technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, sustainable technology solutions.
What You’ll Do Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements
- Analyze current-state business processes, systems, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
- Translate business needs into detailed specifications, user stories, and technical requirements
- Develop business process documentation, workflow diagrams, systems maps, and data flow documentation
- Lead initiatives involving:
- APIs
- Middleware
- System integrations
- Data exchanges between platforms and vendors
- Facilitate solution design sessions with cross-functional teams
- Ensure infrastructure, security, and integration considerations are incorporated into solution planning
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to align solutions with enterprise architecture standards
- Participate in vendor evaluations, RFP processes, and implementation planning
- Support QA and UAT activities including:
- Test case development
- Validation testing
- Workflow verification
- Monitor post-implementation performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in driving project timelines, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to BA best practices, standards, and documentation frameworks
- Communicate effectively with leadership, project teams, and external vendors
- 5+ years of IT Business Analysis experience in complex enterprise environments
- Strong experience gathering and documenting:
- Business requirements
- Functional requirements
- Technical requirements
- Experience supporting enterprise system integrations and cross-functional technology initiatives
- Strong understanding of:
- APIs
- Middleware
- Data integration concepts
- Enterprise applications
- Experience collaborating with infrastructure, engineering, and security teams
- Ability to create:
- Process maps
- Workflow diagrams
- Data flow documentation
- User stories
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience supporting QA/UAT testing activities
- Experience in higher education or large enterprise environments
- Experience with enterprise architecture and infrastructure initiatives
- Exposure to vendor management and RFP processes
- Experience mentoring junior Business Analysts
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills
- Experience driving complex technical initiatives across multiple teams
- Proven ability to navigate evolving priorities and fast-paced environments
Pay: $69.93–$90.91 per hour DOE
