Job Description

The Panther Group is seeking an experienced CRM (Slate) UI/UX Designer for a remote, part-time contract opportunity supporting a leading private university.

This engagement will focus on redesigning a graduate admissions portal within the Technolutions Slate CRM platform. The ideal candidate combines strong UI/UX design expertise with advanced HTML/CSS skills and experience designing user-centered experiences within CRM or portal environments.

Please note: A portfolio showcasing relevant UI/UX work is required for consideration. Candidates currently employed by a higher education institution are not eligible due to client conflict-of-interest requirements.
About the Project
Working closely with the client's design and marketing teams, you will lead the redesign of a graduate admissions portal within Slate CRM. This includes creating a modern, accessible, and visually engaging user experience, along with a scalable library of modular content components that can be customized across multiple academic programs.

Additional work may include redesigning HTML email templates within Slate's email delivery system.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the UX and visual design process from discovery through final implementation.
  • Conduct research and gather requirements to inform design decisions.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Design a modern, intuitive Slate portal experience aligned with brand standards.
  • Develop reusable, modular content components for use across multiple departments.
  • Build production-ready HTML/CSS solutions within the Slate environment.
  • Ensure designs are responsive, mobile-friendly, and WCAG-accessible.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate designs.
  • Deliver documented, production-ready assets and configurations.
  • Support HTML email template redesign efforts as project scope permits.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a strong professional portfolio.
  • Advanced HTML5 and CSS skills.
  • Experience designing within CRM, portal, or web application environments.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies and usability best practices.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and component libraries.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
  • Excellent visual design skills, including typography, layout, and branding.
  • Ability to work independently and manage project deliverables within established timelines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with Technolutions Slate CRM.
  • Experience designing Slate portals and content blocks.
  • Experience developing HTML email templates.
  • Higher education marketing, enrollment, or admissions experience.
  • Experience working within established design systems and brand guidelines.
Portfolio Requirements
A portfolio link is required and should demonstrate:
  • UI/UX design process and problem-solving approach
  • Wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
  • High-fidelity visual design work
  • Responsive and accessible user experiences
  • HTML/CSS-based implementations
  • CRM, portal, or application design projects

Candidates with direct Slate CRM examples in their portfolio will receive priority consideration.
