Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for the design, development, and optimization of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and dies that support metal stamping and related manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Design and develop production tooling using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or comparable platforms) to meet customer and internal specifications.
Create detailed drawings and documentation to support tool fabrication and modification.
Design tooling for sheet metal punching, forming, and fabrication processes.
Partner with tool room, maintenance, and production teams to improve safety, quality, and process efficiency.
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of tooling and manufacturing issues.
Provide tooling concepts and layouts to support cost estimating and new product quotations.
Support new product introductions by designing, validating, and launching required tooling.
Oversee tooling repairs, modifications, and improvements to extend tool life and enhance performance.
Ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with shop capabilities and engineering standards.
Participate in internal and customer design reviews as required.
Identify and implement process improvement, cost reduction, and cycle time optimization opportunities.
Maintain accurate tooling documentation, revision control, and records.
Develop and update work instructions and process documentation to support quality and operational requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tooling design within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
Experience designing fixtures, jigs, dies, and other production tooling.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and shop floor personnel.
