Job Description
Material Handler, Production (Second Shift)
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production operations by ensuring materials, components, and supplies are accurately received, staged, moved, and replenished throughout the manufacturing facility. This entry-level position plays an important role in maintaining material flow to production areas while supporting inventory accuracy and warehouse organization.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods between warehouse and production areas.
Stage and replenish materials to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
Pick, kit, and deliver components to manufacturing workstations.
Receive, stock, and organize materials in designated storage locations.
Accurately perform inventory transactions using inventory management or ERP systems.
Verify material quantities and part numbers against work orders and documentation.
Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
Identify and report material discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials to leadership.
Maintain proper labeling, traceability, and organization of inventory.
Operate pallet jacks and other approved material handling equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Support cross-training efforts and assist with other warehouse or production duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience is helpful but not required.
Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory management systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience operating pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment is a plus.
Working Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Frequent interaction with production, purchasing, and inventory personnel.
Exposure to routine material movement activities and varying warehouse conditions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
