Mechanical Engineer

Job Description
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical/mechanical components, rack assembles, equipment, systems, and networks. Performs mechanical design for Hardware Simulation Lab environments including lab equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for military purposes. Utilize CATIA 3D Version 5 to perform 3D layout and packaging design for Avionic Test Stations. Tasks shall consist of creating 3D layout models, 2D engineering drawings and associated drawing parts list. The applicant will also perform: configuration management/maintain configuration documents, oversee manufactured parts procurement and track ordering through part delivery including vendor coordination, fabrication liaison, checkout, troubleshooting, and integration. Includes stress and thermodynamic analysis as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
- CATIA V5
- Experience with creating/reviewing Parts Lists.
- Experience with creating/interpreting/modifying wiring diagrams and harness assembly diagrams, resolving wiring/integration related issues between the various avionics/electrical systems, validating/interpreting/troubleshooting/resolving any wiring/mechanical related issues, performing technical checks to ensure wiring document correctness, providing engineering sign-off on all new/revised manufacturing wiring documents.
- Hands on experience in mechanical dimensioning & tolerances and manufacturing & assembly.
