Mechanical Inspector

Job Description

  • Self-starter able to work independently
  • Responsible for supporting incoming, in-process, and final inspections – focus on machined and assembled mechanical components
  • Verify product conformance to program specifications, drawings and acceptance tests
  • Capture all inspection data and supplier data packages in VISUAL Quality Module
  • Knowledge of test and inspection methodology
  • Able to properly utilize standard inspection tools; calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc
  • Support of QMS, AS9100D and CMMI processes
  • Supports assigned programs in accordance with detailed Quality Plans
  • Assure inspection equipment used is calibrated
  • Assist with cable & circuit board inspection as needed
 
Required Experience:
 
  • Experience working on DOD electromechanical products
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess  good technical communications and team building skills
  • Must be able to interface with engineering, manufacturing, program office and configuration management
  • Ability to problem solve and critically think
  • Good trigonometry/geometry math skills
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) IAW ANSI/ASME Y14.5
 
Desired experience:
 
  • Certified to or knowledgeable of IPC-A-610/620 requirements
  • Recent experience working in an AS9100 environment
  • Recent experience operating a CMM
