Job Description
The Panther Group is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Cafeteria Assistant to support daily cafeteria operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked cafeteria.
This position combines cashiering, customer service, stocking, and general cafeteria support to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Operate the cash register accurately, including cash and credit transactions
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and follow proper cash handling procedures
- Restock food, beverages, utensils, and cafeteria supplies throughout the day
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are running low
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures when stocking and rotating food items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of:
- Cafeteria serving areas
- Dining spaces
- Storage areas
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including station setup and breakdown
- Support team operations as needed
- Previous food service, cafeteria, retail, or cashier experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math and cash handling abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Dependable, team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25Â lbs
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and carrying
- Comfortable working in warm kitchen or cafeteria conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Entry-level candidates welcome; on-the-job training provided
Pay is $17-$18 per hour DOE
