Physical Architect Senior Engineer duties include:
-The development of the physical architecture for vehicle platform vehicles and the activities associated with maintaining the synchronization between the different levels of this architecture throughout the design life cycle of the project.
-They shall ensure their physical architecture tasks and quality products are completed on-time.
Role and Responsibilities:
-Develop engineering design concepts, distributed system routing allocations, system layout, and packaging solutions that meet customer needs.
-Establish system and subsystem space-claim allocations.
-Develop and manage physical interfaces between system elements.
-Coordinate the packaging of system components and hardware.
-Manage component commonality.
-Perform Static and dynamic Interference Checks.
-Manage system level master CAD models and drawings.
-Perform system/component interference and clearance analysis; compile reports clearly documenting results, impacts, and recommended solutions.
-Support physical integration meetings.
-Develop and manage component physical interfaces to the vehicle structure.
-Develop CAD Prep Models for removed, relocated, and unchanged configurations.
-Perform CAD trade study alternatives while considering mass, assembly, dimensional variation, and other program imperatives.
-Establish preliminary Product Structure and Engineering Bills of Material.
-Support system and subsystem-level integration, testing, and verification to assess and determine compliance with physical allocations.
-Support concurrent engineering reviews, tech reviews, drawing sign-off, and internal/external checkpoint reviews.
-Provide status to functional and program management on program tasks as required.
-Support trial fits and vehicle builds.
-Achieve and maintain proficiency in physical design tools methodologies.
-Position Requirements Strong background in VisMockup, NX, Spaceclaim, and Teamcenter.
-Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline required.
-Minimum 3 years of applicable experience.
-Experience working with System Design and Integration.
-Experience with performing system level analysis/checks. (interference and clearance)
-Highly motivated performer.
-Works well in team and individually.
-Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
-Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills is required.
-Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security clearance.
-Must be able to obtain a military vehicle safe work requirements entry authorization card.
-Ability to make decisions in a fast paced dynamic environment.
-Ability to travel when needed.
