Duties include developing, implementing software solutions supporting electro-optical subsea amplifier and component manufacturing; collecting and analyzing test data; technical problem solving; innovating creative solutions, and clear communication of findings.
Responsible for development; and, support of software for manufacturing of undersea optical amplifiers, Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs), and fiber optic data transmission terminal equipment; including laser sources, optics, electronics, databases, and automation.
Ability to develop software applications using MS Windows based development environments. These applications provide automated control of manufacturing and test instrumentation supporting electro/optical component, circuit board, circuit module, and circuit pack manufacturing.
Ability to drive problems to root cause; and, implement solutions which make both engineering and business sense are essential with this position.
3-5 years experience in: software application and driver development.
3-5 years experience with C/C++ compliers in MS Windows environment.
Experience with National Instruments Labwindows/CVI and/or LabVIEW software development environment helpful.
Knowledge of datacom/telecom communications protocols, transmission equipment architecture, and functions.
Experience with test automation and optical test methodologies.
