Job Description
The Panther Group is looking for motivated individuals to join the team as a Process Engineer working for a local leader in the Aerospace Industry. Apply NOW!
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and interpreting engine manuals and other technical data to develop the methods and processes necessary for the repair and overhaul of complex aircraft engine components.
- Determines processes, operation sequence, dimensions and tolerances, and subsequently create and update work instructions and routers / travelers.
- Provide necessary training to the hourly workforce for new and modified processes.
- Evaluate and improve upon repair processes to improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving product quality.
- Ensure projects are completed as scheduled and in a timely manner.
- Take a leadership role in problem solving activities, determine appropriate courses of action and then implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments (Engineering, Quality, Operations, etc.)
- Lead Process Plan Overhaul Team in overhauling Repair Processes and transitioning to Solumina G8.
- Engage with hourly workforce for inputs to repair process planning and work instructions.
Basic Qualifications:
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior experience
- Able to read and interpret Blueprints, Military, DOD and Aerospace Standards / Requirements
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (6s, etc.).
- Experience translating technical requirements (drawings / prints, manuals) to operator level work instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite.
- Good communication skills
