Job Overview: SubCom's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. Responsibilities & Qualifications: Position Overview A Production Planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company s productive capacity as well as managing WIP and finished good inventory levels. This position works with minimal supervision and must be able to work with people on all organizational levels inside and outside our facility. Duties and Responsibilities Proficiently and accurately prepares, analyzes and issues detailed production schedules and status reports which adhere to Subcom and its customers system schedules. Create job orders in the ERP system (currently Oracle) per the schedule, and prioritize jobs for production optimization. Follow up as required with all teams (Materials, Engineering and Production) to manage and expedite production in order to meet customer expectation. Follow safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices. Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required. Qualifications Bachelor s degree in a business-related field or a minimum of three years experience in a related manufacturing or manufacturing support environment required. No less than two years experience with inventory control or APICS certification preferred. Extensive computer experience working with MS Office; strong Excel skills are required (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas). Proficiency with MS Outlook as well as with an ERP software (Oracle preferred) is required. Ability to pay attention to details and possess strong organizational skills. Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and possess a positive communication style. Possess strong, independent problem-solving skills.
