Quality Assurance Engineer

Perform Supplier Quality Engineering duties in support of the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) supplier quality organization on complex electro-mechanical subcontracts, simulation device/commodity procurements, subcontracted simulator maintenance services.
Additional tasks required for executing PR/PO processing include managing supplier certifications including special process and quality management system approvals to ensure PR/POs are compliant to Corporate and RMS requirements.
Requires close coordination with Sourcing, Program Quality, Engineering and Program Office functions.
Reviews and identifies program contractual and product drawing requirements and applies the applicable quality flow-down requirements to part masters and purchase orders. Makes recommendations on supplier selection based on cost, inspection of facilities, risk assessments, and historical performance. Requires a working familiarity with ISO 9001 & AS9100 Quality Management Systems, including AS9102 first article inspection requirements.
Experience with GD&T, metal fabrications, weldments, composites, electronic assy/soldering, manufacturing processes, integration and test
Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycles, Must have proficiency with SAP (P2P/COS), EPDM, IFS.
Travel to suppliers is required; travel frequency will vary based on program requirements and can be both domestic and international.
Responsible for basic quality services including: supplier evaluation and selectionverification of special process sourcespart/product acceptance inspection planning and verificationsupplier manufacturing process and quality plan reviewdefect root cause analysis and corrective action verificationsupplier oversight, including development and execution of credible Return-To-Green plansfostering positive working relationships with the suppliers
Quality Management Systems experience. In particular experience in ISO9001 and AS9100. Experience in applying Quality Requirements to the supply chain. Working understanding of electro-mechanical hardware and associated manufacturing processes, inspections and test. Ability to read and critique Quality Assurance Plans. Data analysis experience. Experience with mechanical assemblies, electronic/RF devises and associated technologies. Ability to read engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Working knowledge of the Material Review Board process. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Ability to work independently with suppliers. Ability to lead / facilitate problem solving / root cause analysis teams. Experience with P2P (SAP) and EPDM systems. Ability to foster positive working relationships, make sound, risk-based decisions. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
