Our client is seeking a Senior Engineering Aide to support engineering teams in the evaluation, testing, and validation of power conversion products and assemblies. This individual will play a key role in executing complex test setups, gathering performance data, and collaborating across engineering disciplines to ensure product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
Support engineering teams in the evaluation and testing of AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion systems
Perform qualification testing on components and assemblies, including thermal performance analysis under varying electrical loads and cooling conditions
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to design and implement effective test setups for electrical and thermal measurements
Configure and execute mechanical, electrical, and thermal test environments
Modify, build, and improve test fixtures to enhance testing accuracy and efficiency
Utilize data acquisition systems, automated equipment, and internal databases to collect and analyze test data
Document and communicate results through reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for internal stakeholders
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve product or test setup issues
Maintain calibration records and ensure accuracy of lab testing equipment
Operate with a high level of independence, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of relevant hands-on experience in an engineering lab or test environment
Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits and power conversion principles
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
Experience using electronic lab equipment such as voltmeters, power supplies, power analyzers, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and test specifications
Strong soldering skills, including preparation and use of thermocouples
Experience tracking and maintaining calibration of lab equipment
Preferred Skills:
Experience setting up liquid cooling systems, including chillers, cold plates, and pressure instrumentation
Understanding of heat transfer principles and thermal resistance
Experience with LabVIEW or similar test automation tools
