Job Description
The Panther Group is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to support a leading aerospace and defense program in Andover, MA. This is a high-impact role working on advanced, high-reliability RF systems across the full product lifecycle—from concept and design through testing and production.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside industry experts on cutting-edge RF technologies in a collaborative, hands-on engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF circuits, modules, and subsystems for high-reliability applications
- Support all phases of the product lifecycle, including:
- Concept development
- Prototyping
- Testing and validation
- Production support
- Perform RF analysis, simulation, and testing using tools such as:
- Network analyzers
- Spectrum analyzers
- Microwave simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, CST, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration and performance issues
- Develop and review:
- RF schematics
- Block diagrams
- Technical documentation and test data
- Collaborate cross-functionally with:
- Systems engineers
- Hardware engineers
- Manufacturing and test teams
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of RF design experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s degree)
- Strong experience with:
- RF circuit and subsystem design
- Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
- Schematic capture and RF block diagrams
- Hands-on experience with:
- Microwave test equipment
- RF simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, CST, etc.)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex RF design and integration issues
- Ability to work independently on advanced technical challenges
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (Interim required to start)
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics
- Expertise with:
- RF subsystems (antennas, transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, mixers, etc.)
- Frequency generation and conversion circuits
- Experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation tools
- Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques
- Proven leadership or project ownership experience
