Service Engineer

Job Description
The Service Engineer department is responsible for trouble shooting, problem solving, and working with the quality process to minimize the downtime of their construction equipment products (e.g; excavators).
The Service Engineer will work with the Quality team and investigate the root cause of certain failures and work through the countermeasures process to ensure product quality. This position is responsible for determining the differences between a defect in material/workmanship or if the failure was an end user (customer/operator) error.
The Service Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting a failure. Will use their analytical and problem-solving skills to review failure trends and determine the root cause.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Technical Service Requests (TSR) - Review and respond to incoming technical service issues to assist distribution with issues.
- Technical Service Information (TSI) - Review and process inbound TSI information and send to the respective mfg. plant for further review.
- Other special projects as required.
- Must have at least 3-5 years of "hands on" field Service or shop Service experience
- Education: (Trade school) or an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in heavy equipment/agriculture service (Komatsu ACT or other manufacturer equivalent)
- Hydraulic experience is a must.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines and projects. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle pressure. Strong motivation self-starts and the ability to work as an individual and in a team environment to make contributions that Komatsu results
- Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Pivot Tables and other reporting tools a plus, graphs and creating presentations. Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
