Job Description
The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support a leading organization in the Electronic Systems industry. This role focuses on embedded software development and engineering research/product development supporting advanced defense and electronic systems.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in C++ and embedded systems, along with experience working in secure, mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support embedded software solutions for complex electronic systems
- Define technical problems, conduct research, and analyze engineering requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across multiple disciplines
- Develop and maintain software in compliance with system and security requirements
- Support product development lifecycle activities including design, testing, and integration
- Analyze system performance and implement improvements
- Document technical solutions, designs, and engineering processes
- Ensure compliance with security and quality standards in a cleared environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 15+ years of experience
OR Master’s degree with 13+ years of experience - Active U.S. Secret Clearance (required to start)
- Strong experience in C++ development
- Experience with embedded systems software development
- Ability to work in a secure, defense-related environment
- Experience with VxWorks or real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Background in electronic warfare (EW) systems (a plus)
- Experience working in defense or aerospace environments
- Strong understanding of software lifecycle and systems engineering
- Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Embedded C++ software development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in secure/cleared environments
- Ability to work on complex, mission-critical systems
- Strong communication and documentation skills
