Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to implement tools and processes to ensure suppliers starting new work are prepared and have robust plans to deliver first time quality to BAE program customers. The person will also investigate, evaluate, and resolve supplier quality problems by analyzing defect trends. Leading continuous improvement projects (Lean Six Sigma) and partnering with Category teams conducting Supplier audits. You must be a self-starting problem solver who will utilize your analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues (Root Cause & Corrective Action Expert). Strong communication skills are required to facilitate program demands and ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations. 
                                               
Skills Required              
  • 2 years of experience with Best-in-Class Manufacturing Principles, techniques, and Zero-Defect tools and processes
  • Demonstrated mastery of the functional domain in Quality Science 8D problem solving methodology, strategy, standards, and controls.
  • Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Collaboration skills, project management skills and working with internal and external customers, including suppliers to deliver first time quality and drive non-conformances to closure should they occur.                                        
Skills Preferred             
Lean Six Sigma Root-Cause and Corrective Actions Methodology (RCCA Expert) AS9145: APQP/PPAP IPC-A-600, AS9100, NADCAP, Special Process understanding                 

Experience Required 
  • Support the implementation of Supply Chain strategies to achieve the established Supplier Quality goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Supplier Quality manager in continuously improving responsiveness to internal customers to meet service level expectations while optimizing resources.
  • Drive rapid Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects and communicate to internal partners.
  • Ability to work directly with suppliers at a tactical level on-site or remotely, engage and partner with them to address concerns, improvement efforts and prevention activities to achieve superior quality performance, protecting BAE Systems programs and business interests.
  • Support the monitoring, reporting, and improvement of key supplier KPIs, understanding root cause(s) of changes in metrics, identify trends and associated action plans, developing and nurturing a long-term collaborative culture with all suppliers.
  • Support AS9145 deployment in key suppliers of the category supply base to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure collaboration with the Category Supplier Quality teams to drive the SCAR, Audit, FAI, Change Management, Risk management and FAI processes.
  • Support the engagement of key supplier’s management in business review processes to monitor metrics, identify trends and implement programs to assure demonstrated performance improvements.                                        
Education Required   
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology        

Additional Information
Please note that this position will typically work less than 40 hours per week - roughly 30-35 hours.
