Position Overview
Work closely with supply chain, quality, manufacturing and the engineering department to facilitate and manage successful supplier partnerships. Provide engineering and technical assistance to suppliers as required. Work with suppliers to address corrective actions as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support MRB process for supplier materials.
Investigate trends and issue timely corrective action requests to suppliers to resolve discrepant material issues and determine root causes.
Assure supplier contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
Work closely with suppliers and the manufacturing team to resolve supplier issues.
Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting.
Perform supplier process surveillance & product source inspections.
Update supplier database with performance records, declarations and certifications.
Review program contractual and drawing requirements and support inspection activities.
Provide hands on support to receiving inspection personnel on products involving a wide range of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electric disciplines.
Qualifications
2+ years of Quality Engineering or related experience.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering preferred.
Knowledgeable in AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and performance specifications.
Familiarity with hardware inspection techniques
Experience working with mechanical design requirements and specifications.
Experience with ERP and Enterprise Quality Management Software.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain relationships with suppliers, customers and internal teams.
