Job Description


The Panther Group is seeking a skilled Test Technician II for an exciting opportunity supporting advanced electronics manufacturing in Austin, TX. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with experience in PCB board testing, troubleshooting, hand soldering, and electronics assembly within a manufacturing or production environment.

This position supports mission-critical aerospace and defense electronics and requires strong technical ability, precision, and attention to detail.
What You’ll Do
  • Set up test equipment and perform testing on production assemblies and PCB units
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose PCB and component-level issues independently
  • Conduct testing using:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Multimeters
    • RF analyzers
    • Additional measuring and diagnostic tools
  • Read and interpret:
    • Schematics
    • Technical diagrams
    • Work instructions
    • Production drawings
  • Perform hand soldering and support solder certification requirements
  • Lay out and assemble production equipment according to specifications
  • Adjust, calibrate, and modify systems and equipment as needed
  • Repair malfunctions through part replacement, adjustments, or component modifications
  • Use hand tools and small power tools safely and effectively
  • Support quality control and statistical process verification procedures
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to maintain manufacturing standards
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or trade school education (minimum 2 years)
  • 2+ years of experience in:
    • PCB manufacturing testing
    • Electronics troubleshooting
    • Hand soldering
    • Manufacturing or production test environments
  • Strong problem-solving and component-level troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical instructions
  • Familiarity with:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Multimeters
    • RF analyzers
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Reliable work ethic and desire to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing team
Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • J-STD Certification (Modules 1, 3, 6 preferred)
  • Solder certification or ability to become certified
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing
Pay up to $26.98 per hour DOE
