The Panther Group is looking for motivated individuals to join the team as a Tooling Design Engineer working for a local leader in the Aerospace industry. Apply NOW!
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new tools, tooling, gauging, and other tooling aids to support production operations.
- Create designs and drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Analize tooling performance and adjust designs accordingly to improve performance.
- Design tooling for CNC machining, turning, and additive manufacturing methods.
- Review technical manufacturing specifications to determine tooling requirements.
- Design for ergonomics when appropriate
- Collaborate with team members to develop design solutions for production support.
- Evaluate tooling/gauge/aid performance to determine for-use worthiness.
- Investigates and troubleshoots process issues.
- Provides technical support to operations.
- Consult with outside engineering entities when required to resolve issues.
- Coordinates multiple design projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external vendors during tooling fabrication.
- Analyze process data in support of continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of tooling design experience
- 5 years of experience using 3D modeling CAD software – Siemens NX preferred.
- Experience working with CAD assemblies.
- Good understanding of Engineering Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Strong analytical skills using appropriate logic and reasoning for design solutions.
- Experience conducting design reviews.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail. Strong creativity and innovation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite.
