Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Tooling Fabricator/Maintenance Mechanic V will focus on the fabrication of prototype tooling. The candidate is expected to work with Process & Product Development Engineers to fabricate tooling and fixtures for the manufacture and testing of high performance wire & cable The Maintenance Mechanic is also expected to conduct regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting. This position will also interface with outside suppliers and contractors when needed to fulfill the primary responsibilities of this position. The candidate will regularly interface with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to guide and assist with daily operations.

Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:

Tool & Fixture Fabrication inclusive of Machining, Welding, Assembly, Installation, Modification and Testing & Validation

Maintenance (Equipment) inclusive of Preventative, Troubleshooting, Modification/Up-dating, Testing & Validation, Interfacing with OEMs & Outside Vendors and Maintaining Documentation

Maintenance (Facilities) inclusive of General repairs and Interfacing/overseeing repairs by outside vendors

Support Technical Problem Solving & Lean Activities.

Interact with Manufacturing Process Development Engineers on process/product qualification activities.

Support all Product Development Activities as Needed

Support all Site Activities as Needed

Job Requirements/Experience Necessary

Technical High School (Trade School) or an AS Manufacturing Engineering

Competency with the following tools is required: Milling Machine, Lathes, Welding/Cutting

Familiarity with Mechanical drawings a must

Knowledge of machine elements

Knowledge of Wire & Cable Manufacturing Equipment & Processes a Plus

Connector and cable assembly knowledge is a plus


Capable of managing a high number of tasks at any one time

Able to be self-motivated and respond with little direction

Strong communication skills
